Trish McLoughlin

Move over Gal Gadot, there’s a new Wonder Woman in town.

Where do we start?

Trish received her offical IABA boxing coach badge in 2016, completing the first ever female coach course.

She also volunteers valuable time priming the female Irish Under 16 and Under 18 boxing champions for the European championship boxing circuit.

If that’s not enough, Trish also sets aside her time to train a wide spectrum of people, from 4 to 64 years of age. Two of her proteges ended up becoming the Irish under 18 champion and another represented Ireland in under 22 international competitions. Between this she even managed to fit in a 2017 trip to Sweden, coaching a team of Dublin Girls boxing in the Golden Girl Championships.

Her major collaboration was with Dublin City Council and their “Change for Life” programme during which she set up the Clogher Road Sports Centre. The main aim was to bring people of all fitness levels together for training. It was such a success that most of the people are still training with Trish.

There is also the “Train with Trish” initiative in Sundrive Park which takes place 3 evenings per week and on Saturday morning.

2018 was a great year for Trish. 2 years of hard work was rewarded with a qualification in sports and fitness. Her efforts culminated as a finalist in the Irish Fitness Industry Awards for Best Community Based Gym.

Trish specializes in Box Fit, circuit training and mini resistance band workouts. Always the consummate reliable professional, her passion for sport shines through. It’s obvious she loves the feel good factor that her clients receive from workouts. As Trish would say herself, the physical benefits and feelings of well being are so important and rewarding. The positive factors to a persons mental health are critical and crucially important in a persons fast paced and time poor environment.

Enough of the reading. Get down and Train with Trish during lunchtime.

Kimberley Hynes

Born with more energy than the Duracell Enegiser Bunny, Kim was crazy about gymnastics and horse riding. Unsurprisingly, these diverse interests acted as a springboard into everything in between and her eventual foray into the fitness world.

Kim’s first entry into the serious world of fitness was a charity boxing event. After weeks of training she emerged the victor in front of hundreds of people and the adrenaline high of fed the hunger for more challenges.

After graduating from college in 2013 Kim jumped in at the deep end working for Energie Fitness clubs, CR Bodyworx and Yahoo!

A massive amount of skills and experience to develop as a great fitness instructor. The range of disciplines speaks for itself: Spinning, Kettlebells, TRX, Aqua Aerobics, Boxing, Piloxing, Circuits, Yoga and Rebounding. Kim’s specialism is rebounding.

Wanting to achieve ever more, she branched out with her own business and focuses on class instruction. As well as making a starring appearance in our Club, Kim can be spotted in a number of corporate companies, gyms and community centers in Dublin and also Jumpzone, Ireland’s first indoor trampoline park.

Kim loves the motivation and adrenaline that group exercise gives her and the people in her class. She loves helping people achieve their goals and being being part of something that people are proud of.

On top of all of this Kim has recently qualified as a level one swimming coach, teaches swimming lessons and does lifeguarding.

We’ll just have to get a swimming area and fake beach in the Club to rival the Paris Plages!

Ever wondered what rebounding is?

Drop into Kim’s class…

Ruth Sharkey

Our Pilates instructor Ruth Sharkey has had a an interesting journey before arriving to the Club and flexing us all into shape.

In another life, Ruth started out in the Corporate world and developed a successful banking career. She opted to put the brakes on this lifestyle when her first child came along. Fast forward 12 years, and 3 children later, Ruth stepped out of the DeLorean with more free time on her hands.

She wanted to build another career in a land far away from the Corporate Hills and inspiration arrived at her door through her long term fitness exercise of choice – running. This pastime unveiled the real, tangible benefit of exercise for the mind and body.

Ruth combined running with Pilates. She firmly believes this is a dream combination as both activities work in harmony with each other.

Ruth graduated from UCD as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor. Her work life is presently consumed working across both disciplines. If that wasn’t enough, she also works as a running coach!

Make sure to drop into Ruth’s class to flex that body into shape.
